nce upon a time two young people began their lives together and joined
their familes, creating children who would one day have families of their own, whose
children would also have their families. They were the beginning as we know it and
are our common ground. The ties made are strong and should be remembered as the
backbone of our being here.
Belva Mae Fleenor, born 31 August 1893 and died 11 September 1974, married Grover
Alton Pipkin on 29 October 1911 at Commerce, Texas in Brother Lawrence's home in
a double wedding with her brother, Grover Cleveland. Grover Alton Pipkin lived
to be 95 years old and passed away on 21 February 1988 in Vernon, TX.
They had nine children:
(1) Lynna Mae, born 1913, married Aaron Willis in June 1930. They had five children.
(2) Elsie Marie, born 1916, married Marvin Haddock in November 1932. They had seven
children.
(3) Esther Lou, born 1919, married Pete Roberson 28 May 1940. They had three children.
(4) Leathy Adelene, born 1921, married Ben Garner in October 1937. They had three
children.
(5) Joy Wanda, born 1923, married C.F. Wise in November 1941. They had three children.
(6) Bernice Evelyn, born 1925, married J.W. Long in July 1944. They had two
children.
(7) G.A. Pipkin, born 1928, married Faye Wheeless in December 1953. They had two
daughters and divorced in 1993. G.A. married Bobbie Holt in January 1998.
(8) Ava Magalene, born 1930, married Homer Brunson in August 1948. They had 2 sons.
(9) Buford Leon, was born in 1933 and served in the Navy.
